Out of the 5 items we ordered. 2 were our favorites. Chicken satay was so delicious 5/5. Flavorful, moist. Yummy peanut sauce. The Kari mee was like a nice coconut curry laksa. We loved it. The roti canai needed to be much more crisp. It was too soft. The curry it came with was yummy. The hainanese chicken rice. The rice was pretty fragrant. But the chicken was served hot, it was kind of dry, had a lot of bones and didn't have much flavor. The char kway teow was pretty good but didn't really stand out. Friendly service. They mentioned they will be moving locations this week to a food court.

This is one of the best Malaysian restaurant here in Las Vegas, I know, I'm Malaysian I been there so much, I became friends with the owners, they are very good people, and the food is delicious I'm not writing this reviews because I'm friends with the owners, I wrote this reviews because their food and services actually really good I'm glad they here in Vegas, or else I will have to drive to LA for some real Malaysian food. My favorite will be Curry Malaysian Noodles Hainanese Chicken Nasi Lemak Satay chicken or beef Laska Chow Kueh Teoh I can't wait to try different other dishes

Hidden Gem in Vegas! We got taken care of immediately. If you're craving Halal Malaysian food, this is the spot to go! The noodles and the eggplant were the best. The eggplant just melts in your mouth. Every dish was full of flavor. Next time we're out in Vegas, we're definitely stopping by again.

First time here. The food is authentic and fairly inexpensive. Many Malaysian favorites. Well over 100 dishes to choose from. Slightly understaffed but who's in any hurry? Not us! This restaurant is fairly large and is clean. The staff is wearing PPE. We ordered #46 which is Chicken in curry sauce with potatoes. Assam Lemak, Curry Puffs, Mee Goring and a few others. The food came about 10 minutes after we ordered and is very good. We will definitely return!

If you have a craving for roti canai then this is the place to go. The Malaysian noodles were good. The squid curry wasn't so good. Watery curry served on a flattish plate. But there probably aren't a lot of Malaysian restaurants around so I am happy the Roti was good.

WHEN: thanksgiving, 11/24/22 PARKING: located in the 2nd floor of the Pacific Asian Plaza in Chinatown, Las Vegas with a big parking lot which can get pretty busy at times but there's lots of spots So glad my family and I decided to try this place! We were looking for Malaysian food in LV and this was the first result on Yelp. When we walked in we immediately noticed the interior looked just like a restaurant in SoCal that our family used to LOVE but closed down a long time ago. Literally everything was the same, interior design, bathroom doors, utensils, menu, etc. Because of the nostalgia from the past restaurant we knew we wanted to order all our Malaysian favorites and we LOVED the food. What we got: 3. Pasebur (12.95) - a traditional Malaysian-Indian "salad" that's rarely sold at Malaysian restaurants but is sooo underrated. SO GOOD 4. Chicken Satay (10.95) - 6 pieces of pretty small satays but they were sooo tender and tasty. One of the best satays I've had 24. Asam Laksa (12.95) - a sour, fishy, spicy noodle soup with thick round rice noodles. The soup was so good!! Just wish it was a little more fishy but still amazing 26. Kari Mee (20) - we got the combo curry noodle soup that had yen ta fo so it was more expensive. We liked this dish the least bc the curry flavor wasn't strong and the noodles were quite bland 34. Mee Goreng (12.95) - stir fried noodles with squid sauce that was freaking amazing 43. Nasi Lemak (12.95) - the national dish of Malaysia! Very delicious :) Island Malaysian Restaurant is now my new favorite in the states. During the meal my family and I were reminiscing on the last times we were in malaysia and of the food our grandma would cook for us. The food was amazing and heartfelt. Service was great and we learned the owner is from malaysia and bought the restaurant from the guy who actually used to own the restaurant we went to in SoCal. So glad we came here. Please support this restaurant for great authentic Malaysian food at great prices!

After grabbing some boba, we went across the street to find something to munch on. Their menu is very extensive! It wasn't hard to choose though, because I found items we don't really have in SD. All 3 of us got the roti canai and we also shared the Hainanese chicken and added white rice as well. The roti was thin and flaky and delicious! The curry dipping sauce was very flavorful! The chicken dish was also very good. We enjoyed both dishes and I wouldn't mind trying something else next time!

A buddy of mine tells me this place is legit. He was born and raised in Malaysia so ... I'm just gonna take his word for it given my limited (read: zero) experience with Malaysian cuisine. If you're a fan of roti, I have good news. It's really good. The curry that comes with it is good but really runny. Just ask my buddy's shirt. The chicken and beef satay tasted not much better than the satay I had earlier in the week at a Thai place. My buddy criticized it saying it wasn't prepared right... when in fact, it tasted quite good. This is what he was referring to: you see how the chicken pieces look like they have knobs to pull apart? Yes, that. I got the green beans and the deep-fried fish. It was not disappointing... but be careful diving into that fish. It's bonier than incel rump roast. Happy eating! (Don't forget the Malaysian iced coffee. Delish!)

It is very rare to find Malaysian restaurants in the us. This place generally brings that authenticity to you in terms of the sauces etc used, which I really appreciate. It also does fbe appetizers or small eats well. However it falls slightly short on delivering the super amazing main dishes that I remember from malaysia. The truth is, in Malaysia, we would go to specific stalls for specific foods and so we wouldn't expect any restaurant to be extraordinary in all of the dishes. So this place does a good job in providing tons of choices and being decent and consistent in all. Overall, Island Malaysian restaurant is still a good place to try Malaysian food or get your cravings satisfied. I recommend getting the curries such as ayam rendang or kari ayam. We didn't get to try the seafood curries but I'm sure they are good. The roti canai, chicken satay and curry puffs were really good. Highly recommend. A few things could be improved- the chendol could use a bit more coconut syrup. The hokkien mee lacked a little flavor but was overpowered by the white pepper.

Was recommended this Malaysian restaurant by some friends awhile back. On our first trip back to Vegas after more than 2 years, had to stop in for dinner after a rough travel day. We got there just in time before closing and there were 2 other tables still there. Firstly as everyone says, service is super nice. Very friendly and accommodating, and also very helpful to explain things patrons might not know about Malaysian cuisine. They also serve quick so you're satisfied quickly! My eyes got big and we over-ordered the Yong tofu in curry soup, eggplant with salted fish in clay pot, and the oyster omelet. Washed it down with a warm barley drink (it was an unusually cold night) and upon recommendation by the server, we got the coconut pudding for dessert. Everything was fabulous! We didn't finish the omelet so took it to go and finished it off in the hotel room late in the night! My favorite is the curry yong tofu which I can eat all day. But the coconut pudding was a very nice surprise -- it's very very good! We loved this place so much we came back again 4 nights later! This time we got the curry yong tofu (again!) and the ikan panggang (grilled fish) that was superb. Also upon recommendation we got the chow kuey teow which is a chef's specialty -- it was one of the best we've had outside of Malaysia! They also have packaged sides to go. We got a peanut belacan mix, 2 orders of the sambal belacan (nice kick to it!), and no less than 5 orders of the kaya (coconut jam) to take home with us. Oh and the decor is tastefully decorated with nice items from Malaysia. Checkout their cute little trinket display! This has become our favorite Malaysian restaurant (and that's saying a lot!) outside of Malaysia. Can't wait to come back again the next chance we get!
